Road surface treatments in action

Supporting marriage equality and the LGBTQI+ community

Overview

The City of Port Phillip Council wanted to publicly demonstrate its support for marriage equality and LGBTQI+ people in the local and wider community. The council decided to create a rainbow road on Jackson Street in St Kilda.

Our solution

Our team supplied all the equipment and materials required to create the rainbow road and Omnigrip surface treatment. During the installation works, we managed traffic flow and kept one lane of Jackson Street open at all times.

The result is a point of pride for the local community.

Frequently asked questions

Can you proceed with surface treatments in the rain?

No, the road, footpath, or other surface must be completely dry before we can apply any surface treatment or linemarking. In some case, we can use a propane/gas lance to dry the surface if it is damp but not raining, ensuring we meet project deadlines.

Where have your surface treatments been used before?

We have applied surface treatments to roads and footpaths all over Australia. Our completed projects include bus lanes, bike lanes and decorative applications such as the rainbow flag on Jackson Street in St Kilda. For specific advice about surface treatments for your location, please get in touch.
