The growth and commitment of Roadside Services and Solution to the communities it operates in has been strengthened recently with the company investing in the set-up of its third Australian manufacturing plant in the Northern Territory.
The signage manufacturing facilities at 29 Winnellie Road, Winnellie boasts a state-of-the-art digital printer and a clean face riveting system and adds to the two existing manufacturing plants at Lonsdale in South Australia and Bayswater in Victoria.
Roadside Managing Director Craig Woods says, “Roadside’s success continues to be achieved by our commitment to quality Australian manufacturing, service, and the relationships we develop in the communities we work to create a safer environment.
“We couldn’t be more proud of the new plant we have set up in Darwin. We identified that trying to service the Northern Territory from South Australia and Victoria, could be improved if we set up a dedicated Northern Territory site.
“After crunching some numbers and looking at who our clients were in the Northern Territory and wanting to grow more of these clients, it was time to put our money where our thoughts were and make reality the next growth phase of our company.
“After eight years operating in the Northern Territory, we wanted to support the local community with local manufacturing as it gives our clients better turnaround in the delivery of their products and gives us the opportunity to employ more locals. It was too good an opportunity to pass up and it all made sense,” Craig Woods say.
Roadside’s investment in the Northern Territory brings full in-house manufacturing to the Northern Territory for all signage requirements.
“Our sign products are made using industry-leading products ORAFOL. They are backed by our 10-year warranty – either through the ORAFOL Premium Warranty Program.
“Whatever type of signage you need, we can provide the full solution. We can design and manufacture signs for any company, organisation or road authority. Our team has the expertise you need and there's no job too big or too small,” Craig Woods says.
Expertise and experience are paramount in ensuring quality and timely service. Roadside has tripled its team in the Northern Territory now employing seven people who have a combined 70 years plus of experience in signage and manufacturing industry.
Roadside recently employed two apprentices aged 19 and 21 to take them through the signmaking apprenticeship. All staff at the Darwin plant call the Northern Territory home.
The staff work in a temperature-controlled building that has been purposefully retrofitted to ensure good work flow and ease of access to all areas of manufacturing. The plant floor covers an area of 450sqm with an additional mezzanine floor for storage. The building is equipped with a hard stand area to allow easy customer pick up and deliveries. Furthermore the site is fully equipped for disability access.
Roadside’s customer base in the Northern Territory includes government, council, period contractors for Katherine, Darwin, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek. Roadside also supports mining companies, road building and construction companies throughout the Northern Territory.
The product offerings continue to grow in the Northern Territory to include supply of energy absorbing bollards and hostile mitigation bollards for defence, restaurants and traffic management companies.
Roadside has been a proud member of the Northern Territory branch of Traffic Management Association of Australia (TMAA) since starting its operation there eight years ago.
As a Northern Territory business, Roadside recently joined Territory Proud as a silver member.
“As a proud Northern Territory business, we are delighted to have joined Territory Proud as a Silver Member.
Roadside Services and Solutions has been on a major growth trajectory in the past three years catapulting the company into a major services provider in the road construction and site protection industries.
