South Australians can be assured that their 25-meter high Christmas tree in the Adelaide city centre is going to be well secured after refurbishment works were conducted on the footings.
Roadside Services and Solutions was engaged by Adelaide City Council to refurbish the Christmas tree footings for the 2022 festive season.
The Roadside teamwork included coring out the existing concrete footing in one of the four pits; removing the existing threaded rods and installing new rods. The concrete has required 28 days of curing before the Christmas tree can be erected.
Adelaide City Council had become aware of water ingress into one of the pits which posed a possibility of corrosion to one of the footings, which if left unattended could affect the integrity of the footing in years to come.
That possibility is now a thing of the past and the Adelaide Christmas tree will be erected in the coming months to herald the 2022 festive season.
