It was enormous sadness we extend our condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in the horrific crash on the Fleurieu Peninsula yesterday.

We also have in our thoughts and prayers those who were injured, they may have a speedy recovery and return to a full and fruitful life. Our thoughts are also with the truck driver who is being investigated, and cannot imagine the grief with all who have been personally affected by this terrible set of circumstances.

The Roadside Services and Solutions team were called in yesterday afternoon, working late into the night to assist at the accident scene with the clean up and make safe required to open the road again.

Two lives were tragically lost in the accident and seven other people were injured.

The crash involved a truck and multiple cars about 12.15pm on Monday 4 November, on Main South Road at Wattle Flat on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

It was with very sombre hearts the Roadside crew worked diligently at the scene into the night to help emergency services with the clean up.

Roadside Services and Solutions CEO Craig Woods who was at the scene to support the crew and help with the clean up effort said: “Our work mission in all the works we deliver is to ensure the roads are safe. From the signs we install, to the kilometres and kilometres of guardrail we install, to the energy absorbing bollards we design and make right here in South Australia, our primary focus is and always will be to deliver safe road conditions that give people every opportunity to be kept safe.

“We want everyone using the roads to arrive home safely to their family and friends,” Craig Woods says.

“We don’t ever expect to be called out to such a horrific and tragic set of circumstances.”

As the festive season approaches, the Roadside Services and Solutions team urges all road users from drivers, cyclists and pedestrians to drive with caution and vigilance at all times.

This year 75 deaths have occurred on South Australian roads and the only thing we want to arrest is the growing number of road deaths.

Stay safe and please enjoy your journey safely to your destinations.
